I would venture to say your fraternity life was short and you are disparately trying to relive your college life. Better than Theta for sure. IMO they will surpass Kappa in the next few years and it will be PZT. Kappa did very well. Agreed on everything except AXO. A lot of incoming high school ladies accepted to UT who end up having the most successful recruitment experiences: 1) Get started preparing for recruitment early. I actually think Livelonger did a good job of presenting each sorority with both positive and negative points. Hard to tell if it is Theta, Zeta or AZD self promoting. I find that Pi Beta Phi, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Kappa Kappa Gamma, all are considered "top tier' nationally.

All these Panhellenic chapters have something to benefit their members and shouldn't be labeled by one person's opinion based off of numbers and observations. . ADPi: Dont know much about them either besides for their philanthropy they make pancakes.I don't predict them changing anytime soon. This reputation is by no means uniform, which may be due to the diversity of girls who pledge KD. Or, maybe they will just end up in DDD because they were cut from PKT but who cares! However something happened and over the past few years they did a 180. 25? they are. Hot girls but probably no Kappas or Pi Phis wish they were Thetas. To attempt to generalize thousands and thousands of women based on a national chapter is humorous to me. The rest of us made great friends with other girls in our dorms or in our major. Some sororities are more social than others, hosting parties and events while others are more low-key. How dare you pass judgement or share your lame impressions. Kappa and Theta both took girls from them pref night. This may be because the sorority has recently fought its way to the top tier and has a reputation to maintain. Obviously it varies from university to university and chapter to chapter. I disagree on ADPi. It all depends on the school you go to. Because these girls are perceived to be confident, you will find some quirky and offbeat members among them and plenty who dont care what other sororities think. Like my mom always said, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. Chi O is a good chapter. There is a wide variety, culturally, from one sorority to another. I feel bad talking negatively about them because Ive never met a DG that I didnt like. I should have said that they dress "provocatively". I agree that you have to look at each campus to determine the "worth" of a sorority. It was where I felt I fit in, and I ended up finding out that I would have been extremely unhappy if I'd gone with my old friends. Members have a reputation for hunting down other trust-fund kids to marrysomething that they probably don't have much difficulty doing since they are also considered cute or pretty by most. Many consider them obsessed with their looks and say they have a reputation for body image issues. Three or maybe four girls, I think. REAL feedback would be greatly appreciated. It's definitely not for me though. Chi O really does drop Hardin girls obviously going PKT on day 1 though. It doesn't work all the time, but it works enough of the time that sororities have maintained their popularity among undergrads for more than 120 years. Pi Phi is the beautiful, richest sorority on top at my HUGE frat/sor oriented school and kappa and Chi o are the bottom. Most girls are pretty and nice, probably one of the more classier sororities. ,UT rush is incredibly competitive due to the high number of legacies and in state students who already have connections with the chapters, plus the number of PNMs who only seem to want one of six chapters. Pi Beta Phi at Arkansas is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what is posted on here. Its hard to generalize about a sororitys reputation nationwide; there are many differences from campus to campus. Alpha Chi Omega: Used to be almost in the top six. Also remember that each sorority is special in their own way and just because you arent in the same chapter as your friend or someone else doesnt mean you cant be friends or be supportive of their chapter. To stereotype any organization and the members a part of these organizations is belittling of what these organization were founded on. They are probably number three IMO. Also, if you do not get a bid from a house that you want, you can rush again your sophomore year (assuming youre currently a freshman). Every one of their pledge classes is worse than the last. Okay so here are the real sorority rankings at UT Austin IMO They don't tend to be as social as other sororities and can sometimes seem invisible compared to more visible sororities. Delta Delta Delta ("Tri-Delts") has a national reputation that was lampooned in a 1980s episode of Saturday Night Live ("Delta Delta Delta, can I helpya helpya helpya?"). Also they have the majority of UT cheerleaders. The biggest sororities have hundreds of chapters across the U.S. and abroadthe oldest have been around since the 1850s. Every girl should have the opportunity to get a feel for each and every house she rushes and decide for herself which she would fit in the best at. Alpha Phi got more girls rushing PKT than Chi O, Tri Delt or Zeta because they didnt drop those girls first day! Furthermore, if you're going to generalize like this, then include all panhellenic sororities, not just the largest national groups. Most girls have a connection to get in here and usually have been told they will be a Pi Phi before rush week begins. Where do you even see that? Not good from everything i'm reading and I don't know how accurate it is. I don't think they've ever missed quota, but every year since my niece started HS 3 years ago, I look at the PC photos and get more concerned. The university also received national recognition for Latino student success. Look past the make up/money/chapter stereotype. They're not as concerned with academics or philanthropy than they are about socializing/partying and sisterhood. Zeta did have a great year but you guys are not rushing against PKT. Beautiful, classy, intelligent girls are in APHI! The fact that many Tri-Delts consider themselves top-tier might explain some of the resentment they get from other sororities. The best way to find out whether a sorority is right for you is to participate in recruitment activities and talk with current members. Being in a sorority is something I can't explain in words. If you want the basics (i.e. They have a reputation for accepting those who were rejected by top-tier sororities and that they are a backup option for many. Every house has it's pros and cons, but I just have to say that I really agree with the (sad to say it) stereotypes mentioned in this article! What's it all mean? Time to get with the times and realize that the top houses are no longer in the south and east and beauty and wealth are not considered as much as grades, sports and philanthropy. My mother and daughter are members of Pi Beta Phi. They have a reputation for behaving like daddy's little princess, but their top-tier reputation is intact across the country. Rather than judging women before you even meet them, why not talk to them and see if it is right for you? Both have very attractive and fun girls. My younger sister pledged Pi Phi at Kansas, and again, mostly blonde, debutantes, and extremely selective. I've met s lot of heavy, mean, unattractive kappas and KDs.
